St. John's Family Boasts Country Music Award-Winner

Frank Rogers, son of Buzz and Rae Rogers, is a three-time Academy of Country Music winner, having won two of those honors at the May 23 awards show. Rogers was awarded Album of the Year for Time Well Wasted, an album he produced for Brad Paisley, as well the Vocal Event award for the song When I Get Where I’m Going, a duet for Paisley and Dolly Parton.

Frank is the producer for Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, Trace Adkins, Phil Vasser, and Trent Willmon. Over the last ten years as a producer, he has been nominated for nine Country Music Association Awards, including Album of the Year. He has also nominated for five Academy of Country Music Awards and has won three.

As a writer, Frank has written seven Top 20 songs, one of which was the number one hit “The Fishing Song” which was a CMA nominee for Song of the Year. He is a co-owner of SeaGayle Music which has published nine number one hits and includes the Grammy winning song “Five O'clock Somewhere.”

Frank and Brad Paisley wrote the theme song for "Mater," the rusty tow truck in the new Disney movie “Cars” which debuts in theatres next week. Last fall, he spent ten days at Sky Walker Ranch at the Pixar Studios in California recording this and one other Brad Paisley song for the movie.

Currently, Trace Adkins has a song on the charts, “Swing,” that was written by Frank; it is a parody on baseball. It was videoed by Atkins in each of the major league franchise uniforms for use at all the major league ball parks on their stadium screens.

As a child, Frank was a regular monthly visitor at St. John's including many of the Christmas Eve services. He sang with Sumter High School’s Madrigal Singers (16 of their top choir members) and, during his senior year the a cappella group performed at St John's singing songs in six different languages. Frank graduated with honors from Belmont University in their Music Business program in 1994.
